梦想行动2016暑期志愿者项目已正式开始接受申请，申请截止日期为2016年2月29日。

关于梦想行动

梦想行动于2004年在美国北卡罗莱纳州成立，志在改善中国贫困地区儿童的学习和发展环境，鼓励他们为自己的梦想而奋斗，不让当地条件彻底限制自身发展。在过去的十一年中，梦想行动在中国乡村地区共开放图书室56间，捐赠了78865本优质图书，使超过50000名儿童受益。通过参与梦想行动暑期志愿者项目，447名志愿者前往了项目点，为当地儿童开展了阅读活动。

2016年暑期志愿者项目

梦想行动今年计划招募约60名志愿者，为中国农村学校与社区建立图书室和做阅读推广活动。申请将于2016年2月29日结束。

暑期志愿者项目希望达成以下愿景：

为乡村儿童提供丰富的高质量书籍，以帮助解决乡村城市教育资源分配不均的现状。

通过协助当地教师开展阅读活动，对当地教育产生积极的、可持续的影响。

通过志愿者在项目点的全程参与以达到双方无偏见的共识和跨文化的理解。

志愿者将在当地乡镇学校和社区开展以下活动：

开辟和完善图书室建设：图书室装饰，图书分类和编码，图书电子化管理，图书室运行机制和规定、老师电脑技能培训等。

设计和组织阅读活动：“图书馆月”宣传，绘本朗读，手工创作，学科及科普知识传播，英语阅读（根据具体学校的要求）等。

学习与认识当地社区：与当地教师增进交流，家访，社区调查，社区阅读推广等。

2016暑期志愿者项目日程

梦想行动2016暑期志愿者项目将从2016年5月18日进行至2015年6月19日。整个项目包括四个阶段：

网络培训：

共计四周，每周三小时；于2016年4月2日晚9点(美国东部时间)开始第一次网络培训。网络培训内容将涵盖乡村教育与儿童成长、志愿者与公益组织、阅读对乡村儿童成长的意义、以及乡村教师与社区重要性等相关话题。

北京集训：

志愿者将于2016年5月18日下午报道，开始参与连续四天的集训。

项目点工作：

志愿者将会被分组分配到位于河南、贵州、甘肃、福建、和四川的10个项目点之一，进行约四周的工作。

北京总结论坛：

志愿者将会在2016年6月17日返回北京，参加6月18至19日的北京总结论坛。

Dream Corps 2016 Summer Volunteer Program (SVP) is now accepting applications. The application deadline is Febuary 29, 2016.

About Dream Corps

Founded in 2004 in North Carolina, USA, Dream Corps aims to improve the environment for learning and development of children in rural China. Over the past eleven years, Dream Corps has opened libraries in 56 sites in rural China, donated 78,856 books, and benefited more than 50,000 children. Through Summer Volunteer Program (SVP), 447 volunteers have worked on-site to promote reading.

2016 Summer Volunteer Program

This year, Dream Corps is recruiting about 60 volunteers to set up libraries and promote reading in schools and communities in rural China. The application closes on Febuary 29, 2016.

The program strives to achieve the following through the dedication of volunteers:

Provide a rich variety of high quality books to underprivileged children, addressing inequality of resources between rural and urban areas.

Create sustained impact by directly working with local school teachers and residents on issues of reading, education, and beyond.

Strive for unprejudiced mutual understanding and intercultural exchange through full immersion.

Volunteers will take part in activities that include:

Establishing and developing libraries: decorations, cataloging books, setting up the electronic cataloging system, and working with students and teachers to establish library policies.

Reading programs: Library Month, Reading Aloud, Science and Reading, English Reading, and crafts.

Understanding and learning from locals: communicating with the local teachers, home visits, community research, and promoting reading in the community.

2016 Summer Volunteer Program Schedule

Dream Corps 2016 SVP runs from May 18, 2016, to June 19, 2016. The programs contains four parts:

Online Training:

4 weeks, 3 hours/week. The first online training will be held at 9PM (EST), April 2, 2016. Online training will contain topics like rural education and child development, volunteers and NGOs, the impact of reading on rural children, rural teachers and communities, etc.

Beijing Training Camp:

Volunteers will check in on May 18, 2016 to participate in a 4-day training camp.

Working On-site:

Volunteers will be assigned in group to 1 of the 10 sites in rural Henan, Guizhou, Gansu, Fujian, and Sichuan province to work on-site for about 4 weeks.

Beijing Concluding Forum:

Volunteers will return to Beijing on June 17, 2016 and participate in Beijing concluding forum from June 18 to June 19, 2016.
